Bloodbuzz ohio what does it mean

This song is about being underwater financially on his home and being in debt to the creditors to the point he will never be able to repay his loans. The writer is on a blood-buzz because the blood has been sucked out of him. He has given his creditors the shirt off of his back and his head is now an ornament on their car. I kinda think that Ohio is referring to the woman he loves and he calls her Ohio because their love felt so right she felt like "home" to him.

I think "stand up straight at the foot of your love" means two things: him nervously awaiting her approval and trying to keep it together while she never lets him actually get close to her, hence, "foot" of your love, and then kinda of a more literal, they're about to make love and he's nervous that she doesn't love him back. Ohio got over him.. Post a Comment. Thursday, May 20, "Bloodbuzz Ohio". A couple of weeks ago I did a Weekend Assignment post about poetry. The gist of the post was that I didn't care much about poetry unless it was set to music as lyrics.

I also made the debatable point that maybe our best poets aren't really poets at all, but are songwriters. Which brings me to the subject of my favorite new band of the moment well, new to me anyway , The National. I like their sound, and whoever writes their lyrics -- I suspect lead vocalist Matt Berninger -- has a poet's sensibilities.

Instead of just coming out and saying what he means, everything is symbolism and metaphor and hidden meaning -- so much so that I'm really confused about what it all means. Log in. General Comment The 'blood buzz' to me, is that kind of overwhelming feeling you get when you go back home - it's all so familiar, but so different, hugely exciting to be back but also horribly sad.

It's about going back home - he never married as in, he never found a new place to call home, never fully settled elsewhere but even so, Ohio's not his home anymore Ohio don't remember me.

General Comment the bloodbuzz is definitely talking about going home to ohio, to one's family. CandFood on May 04, Link. Song Meaning I think of this song as somewhat of the opposite of 'Theory of Crows' from their debut.

This song focuses more on the dread of returning home. Being 'Carried to Ohio in a swarm of bees' reminds me of a person running away from a swarm of bees. Metaphorically this relates to running from creditors and a myriad of other issues why he has to be returning home. Upon returning home, its realizing that not only things have changed, but his original running away has not gone completely forgiven, and has accumulated 'interest' in a sense, to the point where he owes time on top of the time he missed, a debt that he might well never get even on.

Basically he said that it was never ment to be a political song, It was just about being in debt and owing "money to the money to the money I owe" interest and getting stuck in that downward spiral that so many Americans get caught in with credit card, medical, education and other debt.

They see Ohio as a microcosm of all of America how divided it is, socially, economically, politically. General Comment Simply beautiful. Metaphorically naked around his family because they know him. He can't hide.

That's all I've got for the first part. I think most people who are talking about going home and the "buzz" that you get, whether good or bad, are basically correct. Great song smyoungn on August 04, Link. Most likely heroin. I think his love is to the drug rather than a person. He was taken to his favorite place by the swarm of bees which is the feeling of being high. Laying his head on the hood of the car, is when he overdoses takes it too far.

The money he owes is to his dealers. The floors fall in on him every time he injects — it is his illusion. Ohio — Hmm.. The place he goes when he is high?

Going to the concert tonight at the Beacon Theatre in NY. Can't wait! MonteeCarloo on December 15, Link. Considering you posted this twice, you may want to lose the buzz before you fly: Enjoy. FatBottomedGurl on December 15, Don't speak to me now or ever.
